Ipoh, what is the first impression you can think of when it is mentioned? Well, everyone has their own idea(s) on this city, for me, I would say it should be the scenery and the food that attract me. Hehe… Anyway, going to Ipoh for a five days trip is truly a memorable experience and I’ve tasted a lot of food from their ever famous Ipoh White Coffee to the pamelo that sold at a row of shops by the roadside where I’ve encountered one of the crazy experience where all the so called ‘promoters’ stand still at their respective shop when we arrived at the place for some local treat of Limau Tambun. Well, I should say that Ipoh is much alike to Kuching, the difference is that Ipoh has more nice sceneries where their rocky mountains of limestone looks like we were on one of the cities in China. Ipoh has lots of caves to offer and it is surely a great experience to climb up to the top of the hills through the cave and have a look at Ipoh from the top of the hills. I guess I won’t talk much here and just let the pictures do all the talking. I’ve numerous photos taken throughout the trip and only a few have been selected for public viewing….bear with me hehe..coz I’ve a lot of pics to offer this time around….nice scenery takan at bukit lang...somehow it looks like Langkawi...
surprisingly we saw one tunnel which we thought it's a cave at the beginning...it's a road eventually
kera..kera..kera..we found lots of kera in those hills and caves
Kampung Kuala kuang..the place where we had erm.."hand-made" mee?...well, eating here can make us feel home at the village...soothing
Sing Yeong Loong white coffee...I wonder I spell the name correctly or not...it sounds like that lah...their coffee is quite famous here and I swear..the coffee taste different than the 3 in 1 white coffee you found in any supermaket.
haha... we saw Japanese Flag in the making at the Ipoh Parade...it's actually the decoration for the preview of the new Nissan Latio...
Ipoh's own "ya chai ji" aka beansprouts chicken...where the dishes are consist of only chicken and beansprouts..the specialty of it is their beansprouts where it is fat and juicy...wonder what they put in order for the beansprouts to grow to that size...
serve with the 'fen' aka the mee or looks like kueh tiau more...
...and the chicken as well...
Perak Caves...one of the caves we had visited...
nice calligraphy...how they manage to do it on the wall of the stone..hmm..nice scenery
a small "perhentian" on top of the hill...one can see the whole of Ipoh city from this place.
..one of the nice scenery capture by the lens of my camera...
a cafe under a tree?? strange huh..but you can find this in Ipoh where there are cafes juz under the tree..I guess to save cost on renting a shop...cheaper and it is cool enjoying meals under the tree...the food here are quite cheap as well...ignore the self-acclaimed good looking guy(my roomie) who has follow throughout the trip to Ipoh....hehe
the lion who roar....guarding the temple...one of the sculpture in Nam Thian Tong...aka Nam Thian Cave
..trying to catch its prey...the self acclaimed guy...
this stairs to the cave seems so steep and eerie...we are unable to go into the cave as it is still under maintanance...erm you can go in actually just that it's quite dark so...it's kind of menakutkan to go up...
Journey to the West...lead by 'Su Wu Kong'
My Zodiac sign..the dragon..
the tortoise pond at the Sam Po cave...this is the place we found a few strange thing
I like this place as it has the temple that is built inside an enclose place where it is surrounded by limestone hill...use your imagination then...
Ahah...found the tortoise pond and...there are lots of them...we managed to feed a few of them...and at the same time we saw...feel tortoise having...erm their 'pleasure time' together...
it rains soon after and I managed to get this nice view and to tell you the truth..it looks great if you shot this view during the raining day
Hentian Limau Tambun...this place has lots of 'freak' people...once a car just parked their car..the shopkeeper...aka the promoter will hold up to their position and standby to drag you to their shop to have a taste at their Pomelo...hmm..I wonder why the local government put them all together selling the same thing all along the row of shops...stupid idea...plus the Pomelo is actually much more expensive than usual...according to locals...
The place where we bought "gai chai beng"..aka little chicken's biscuit...haha...direct translation from cantonese....
one of the famous place for beansprout chicken, lots of famous ppl come here for it...
Tambun ..the place where we had our water activities on the last day of enjoying in Ipoh...
The only ride that I think quite fun for me...
the place where I got my sunburn under the schorching sun..darn...i'm getting darker now...we are inside this pool for almost 3 hours...our group photos....erm notice the few different people around in the pictures
I swear if I didn't tell you about this place...it looks like Langkawi scenery but it's in fact only in Bukit lang...
Last but not least, thanks to the birthday girl and her family for their courtesy in letting those homeless people during the holiday to stay in her house...really appreciate their effort...Hey, what I can offer back is the next time any of you come to kuching...you are welcome to stay at my house...hehe...anyway, Arigato!!!!
