Equastrian..

hmm...It seems like there is people demanding or perhaps complaining about me writing too long on my blog, I will try make sure that this post will contain more pictures

Well, let's start with the 'front desk'...this is what someone will notice if they use the Sungai Besi Highway...Anyone will notice the lush greenery of the field just beside the highway... ( it's Taman Pertanian Universiti )

There is the lake and other kind of terrains that were actually created for any cross country events...so no doubt this Taman is quite big..it's along the stretch of the highway after the Toll UPM to the roundabout of Ikram and UNITEN

... if you are lucky, then you make see lots of cows on the field like what I saw the everytime when I go for equastrian, something if you are lucky, you might even see horses "wondering around without being tied up on the lush green of the field...it really makes you feel like you are at a countryside....it has calming effect though

or maybe something you can see human wondering around in the Hilux like this on the highway..haha...in case if the bus that fetched us to and from The equine decided to 'fly us Aeroplane'( they forget about fetching us) ..anyway, it happens only once. The reason why they fly us aeroplane is, the place is kind of isolated and to make the matter seems worse, lots of UPM students don't even know the existence of the Taman Pertanian Universiti as it is off the map of UPM...it's the edge of UPM's map...darn


There are horses likeJade...the white horse...this horse really reminds me of a lot of fairy tales where the prince or princess like to ride on a white horse...

Farazh, the Stallion horse which is owned by Dr. Mahathir before he gave it to UPM ...hey, this horse used to be representing Malaysia in SEA Games and Won a Medal for Malaysia...but unfortunately, Farazh has an operation and that is why his neck is supported to prevent him from bitting his wound. Ohya, the 'mask' is used to cover his eyes
from flies...

Hobo, everyone's favourite horse as this horse is gentle and 'user friendly' I like this horse as well as he will follow what he required to do...very friendly oh...eventhough he is a Gelding Horse...


we were taught of the ways to groom a horse, notice the shinning part of the hoof (the leg of the horse...) the horse baru been sapu with hoof oil an oil which I was told to be expensive than minyak masak and it is applied on the hoof of the horse everytime to prevent the hoofs been exposed to water..

it's like in an animal Kingdom, sometime you might notice those horses here speak among themselves and their way of communication is somehow like the one above...our instructor even told us that they might lick each other as the way of communicating...hehe ;D


Ohya, this is my group pic with the instructors and notice the dark guy on the right, he is our head of instructors,Mr Razak. Really respect him as he is an experience guy in equastrian, he travels to a lot of places and he knows lots of things about horses, He can even tame those wild horses,train them, Not only he is the instructor for us but other club outside. wahsei, He is also a coach for the Terrenganu equastrian squad, a judge and also he used to coach The cast of Anna and the King...wahlau eh, I feel so lucky to learn from him...somemore...it's free of charge

...haha, me being 'bullied' by the others on the last day of the course...jaga you ppl...

a horse can drink average 60-80 litres of water per day...OMG, it's like ten times of our daily intake...darn...

Anyway, on the grooming side, there are lots of steps that needed to be followed and any careless mistake can be fatal..and I'm not kidding, like for example, you might ended up flying away after been kicked by the horse...it's always safety first when it comes to the issue of handling horses...
Flyaway, the name tells us what is the function( chasing flies away) but somehow lots of us laughed when we saw the product, is it a title for a song? by Michael Buble or F.I.R.?

one of the steps of post-grooming is getting the horse ready for riding and among them is shown above...( for the rest of the process, I can't explain much, the best one should be experience it yourself...hehe, especially on the grooming part and getting the horse ready for riding...


Guess what, horses do not take 'shower' often( they only get to do so once a week),except if the horses is too dirty...meanwhile, grooming is done everyday, and those horses enjoyed been groomed

I guess I was lucky enough to have the oppurtunity to go for equastrian and to be part of It, after a few months of involving in the equastrian, it suddenly makes you addicted towards its and who wants more as it is also free of charge, unfortunately, a few silly guys drop the course after they got the seat and now they don't have the chance to do so ( the space is so limited, each sem, only 30 lucky students are selected for it..it's first come first serve basis...) I'm so lucky in this..hehe, I guess I will take advance course next semester to improve my skills in riding. "It's the cheapest riding course and fee you can find in Malaysia"...claimed Mr. Razak. It's true he claimed that as for advance course, a student only needs to pay RM100 for ten lessons..
