Opinion Matters

If I was given a chance, I would want to turn back the time. But I know It’s in fact impossible. Hehe…Anyway, I was a little depressed with the fact that I did not score well in my first semester final exam as compare to other people that I’ve known. Eventually, I thought I could get away with the fact but I guess I cannot just ignore the fact about that. After reading one of the notices on the notice board, I was saddened by the fact that it’s only 0.3 point away for me from getting the certificate of excellence by our college’s principal.*sigh*. I guess I’m just plain cemburu or maybe kiasu?? Anyway, nasi sudah menjadi bubur, nothing can change the fact about it. All I can do now is just continued to be more hardworking and do better than the others. I still have 7 more semesters to correct my result, since its accumulated CGPA.
Anyway, moving on to another matter, I just realise something, there are actually certain blogs that can eventually endure the test of time, but certain blogs can’t make through the test. What I’m talking about is how long can a blog last. For example, A personal blog can endure much longer time, maybe perhaps a lifetime. Same goes to political blogs. But, there are certain blogs which I think won’t last long, The blogs that I’m referring to is the blog that has only one aim. After their aims are achieved, so what’s next? At the end of the day, their blogs will become something else as well. For those who understand what I’m talking about, I think it’s better that we let them do what they want. Blogging for many ( including me…) means to have your thought and feelings conveys through posting of blog.

This is an announcement brought to you by erm...IJ..haha
I'm starting to get myself really busy for the whole week and it will continue until the end of the semester. The reason behind all of the busy-ness is that I will be involved in several big projects and I don't mean they are the normal assignments that I normally do, but they are the university level programmes. I'm involved in two of the university level programmes as part of the committee and the main committee. Besides that, I will be participating in another university level activity next week as a participant which is the Intercampus Run. hmm...Probably, I won't be updating so often...( or maybe not, hehe) hey, I don't post my blog often right??
Perhaps I will blog out the event soon. Most of the events are held next month and beginning of march, but the planning of the programme and the kerja has to begin by now. After that, all the events, I will be busy for my assignments pula, most lecturers have given us the assignments for the course that we are taking, and guess what, all the assignments contribute quite a number of marks to our finals. some contribute even as high as 40% which is the same score with the final exam, 40%!! So, better get started and do it nicely. One of the thing that make me terkejut is in one of the assignments for Hubungan Etnik ( An University...particularly all IPTA compulsory subject ). Eventually, our lecturer asked us to write at least 500 words for the acknowledgement. And He DOESN"T mean 500 words for one group, but PER PERSON in the group. We have 5 members in a group, erm, 2500 words perhaps??? INSANE...probably u will read the longest acknowledgement ever in the world longer than the speech given by a winner in the Grammy or Academy Award....Maybe, it should start like this....
I'm quite surprise but honoured to have the oppurtunity to do the hubungan Etnik, I would personally thank God, My parents, my brother and sister, my friends ( state all my friends' name...erm mayb I will try to get 500 names??....) blablabla and ends up with thank you very much, I love you all, Danke Scher.....May God Bless....
whoa, whole lots of craps, Acknowledgement is always the part that I can't write even half a page on and now I need to write 3 pages of it. Anyway, I will try to do it, since it's Malaysia Boleh.
Auf Wiedersehen and Bis bald....

Happy New Year 2008

Haha, finally, it's around the corner where less than 24 hours, we will have our New Year 2008. I guess I won't be joining the countdown in KLCC after my coursemates inviting me. haha....
Anyway, finally, our college has the wireless service but it is just in the starting stage. For now, my area still can't detect any wireless connection. Most of people who wants to go online have to go down to the foyer or the canteen to have internet connection. It was funny to see people sitting at the foyer just to get the internet connection, especially when it is in the middle of the night, or perhaps early in the wee hours. all you can see is the screen that has the light shown onto their face and it makes you feel like you saw hantu especially when the foyer doesn't have any lighting.
Last week I had the worst spending ever in my life. I spent too much that, I almost go off broke. Well, at least the money inside my acccount saved me. Anyway, I did have my so called "year-end shopping' to buy stuffs that I wanted to buy. Among the few are an external hard disk and a running shoes. Most of my money go down on both items. Other than that would be daily neccesities.haha...luckily I never broke like other people who went broke at the end of the year.

Looking back the year 2007

Once again it’s the end of the year and darn, how time flies that it’s once again the end of the year. I guess I need to reflect back to certain occurrences that have happened this year.

In Labuan
- One of the biggest things that happened to me this year and it isn’t a good thing either. I’ve lost my beloved camera after it was stolen by an unknown, @#$%^&* individual. Surprisingly, I still can’t figure out how it was lost until now. It is gone in just a few minutes unattended and it is during the prayer time. Those who are in the scene with me will know what has happened that day. I didn’t sleep, eat or do my work properly for a few days because of that.
- Joined a sketch competition, I managed to play a few characters which include of becoming a tree…hehe, too bad, the footage of the sketch was never recover after the whole recording of it was stolen together with my camera. Darn that stupid, jacka** stealer. So far only 5 individual have seen the footage of the sketch before my camera was stolen, and I’m not in the 5 person list.hahaha. Perhaps that guy is interested in our show??!
- Been in a lot of events in LMC alone, football competitions (organiser), drill competition, sketch, etc etc…
- Joined into a club that has its member not really united in doing certain things, luckily, it hasn’t happened to my group. On the last meeting, it’s the first time I scolded people in front of a meeting( another group leaders that said other groups are not doing their jobs and only his group does…takkan I’m not defending my group right?) at the end of the day, lots of people supported me on my action…hehe
- Had food poisoning just few days before final exams, I didn’t study for 4 days because of that.
- Had 3 free KFC meal in a week
- Watched sunrise on the last day in Labuan on a beach. And I was contented to see the sight of Mt. Kinabalu.haha
- Carried super extra weight luggage to board aeroplane. My luggage was overweight by 15 kg when I boarded FAX. 8kg for my next connecting flight to Kuching. I guess FAX was so happy during those few days as lots of students carry their heavy luggage to the airport. Some of my friends had their luggage overweight by 40kg. OMG, emas kah inside?
- Experience of becoming broke on the last day in Labuan after paying the freaking overweight luggage.

In Kuching
- nothing much happened, but it was my first time I’ve watch so many movies in a month with my friends during my semester break recently.

In KL…erm, Klang Valley
- walk on the unknown streets of KL alone without a map. I managed to get to KLCC from pasar seni without a map but only guide. It is not easy for you to get lost as once you are lost, just look up in the sky, and make the two tall peaks as your guide lah.
- Joined in the equestrian…hehe
- Been a sakai for too many times.
- Bought a new camera to replace my camera that was lost
- It seems like it’s not worthy to come back to KL this time, I don’t even have class on the first day of semester. It’s not I didn’t go but the lecturers didn’t come.
- As I’m writing this now, I still don’t have any class that I’ve attended.

A Lesson...

Well, It might seem good on the outlook and everything works fine even until today but behind everything, it is actually not working fine and you can’t even detect it.
I would like to share something very unusual that has happened these few days, and I would like everyone to notice what is going on and take it as a lesson to everyone, starting with myself…
Ok, the story goes like this,
My laptop’s LCD hinge apparently loosens. This has been happening around since a two more months and I don’t have any spare time to repair it. At the end of the day, I decided to service my laptop here in Kuching since Kuching has a HP service center which is located near to the Crown Square which is next to the Bank Rakyat( you can see the center from the traffic light that is from Sekama Road.) Anyway, it seems that the only problem with the laptop is the hinge, so I told the front desk personal that my laptop is having problem and it is the hinge only.
Well, everything turns out to be ok and the person has a look at my laptop and she inspected the laptop to see if there is any other wrong with the laptop. While she was doing that, I told her that I’ve just bought the laptop few months ago and already it causes that problem and I managed to tell her that my laptop (notebook) is still under warranty since it is just few less than a year.
Haha, then things started to went wrong when she checked the serial number under my notebook. Eventually she thinks that my laptop is a remarketed product and the warranty actually only lasted for 4 months only. To support her statement, she checked it through the internet with the serial number. It turned out to be really true, the notebook has only 4 months warranty. ( I was really stunt that time when she showed me the statement on the screen… the warranty actually ended on September this year…even more surprisingly, my notebook according to the registry has the warranty started on May this year…) I was so so so surprise with the date of purchase…
OMG, I bought the laptop end of June this year but how come it’s May????
Then, the front desk personal said she will try her best to extend the warranty as we didn’t know about the occurance…
Obviously, it is like been cheated for that as according to her, the people who sold remarketed stuffs should inform the consumers that they are selling remarketed stuffs. Luckily my father was there when we went to Lowyat to make the purchase. So I have saksi for that matter. Hey, what the hell is that, it was obvious that both my dad and I didn’t even heard anything about my notebook is a remarketed stuff and we are even sure that the salesman in Lowyat is telling us that the laptop has one year warranty and he even asked us whether we want to extend the warranty to 3 years. Luckily we didn’t ask for the 3 years warranty as the extended warranty will mean extra charge lah..if I’m not mistaken, it should be around rm200…darn cheater….nasib we didn’t do that….

My poor laptop that has to go thru all of this...

Ok, everything was fine after that. But the word ok doesn’t last long, worst case scenario eventually happened. OMG, this might sounds very awkward to most of us and even me myself tergamam…..
The technician who repaired the hinge managed to repair the hinge but as he was about to unscrew the notebook he noticed that the laptop has only 3 screws supporting the laptop….OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!3 screws???????? Before he told us about that, he did ask us whether we ever repair or open up the laptop…honestly speaking, who the heck is so free to open up the laptop just for fun and forget to unscrew it….It was so new that even the word been repaired is not really suitable for a new notebook. Apparently, questions started to sparked…where is the other 12 more screws???
How did my laptop can tahan that long without even the inside of it spill out??? How come I didn’t notice the mystery of the screws all this while that I was using it???
This is obviously been cheated for a product….( I swear I will go back to Lowyat one day after I’ve return to KL and take down the name of the shop where I bought the laptop…) Again, how did the screw gone??? Question that runs thru my mind until now…. My dad and I really saw the salesman open it from a box which is really sealed from the beginning. The salesman even opened up in front of us after we have requested a new unit rather than the display unit. I would refer the salesman as conman from now onwards….. the conman or conmen since the shops is not operated by him alone. I clearly remember that I checked the product thoroughly and the operating system to the RAM and etc…. but not the screws underneath the laptop…
Who the heck would check whether if there is any screw missing from the product they purchased?? Would you check every inch of the new car you bought to see whether is there any missing screw.?? Surely the answer is no….
The same thing applies when I’ve decided to take the unit of laptop. Anyway, back to the discussion with the front desk personal and the technician. The front desk personal eventually managed to check the price of the screw. This time around I even more tergamam to hear the price of the screws….for the whole set of screws for the laptop, the cost is RM 134….hah??? did I hear wrongly, 12 screws for RM134??? For that one piece of screw I can watch at least five days of astro dynasty package…haha….
It’s just to freaking expensive as if the screw is made of nanotech stuffs or it s made of partly diamond and gold platted. Finally, I understand why the screws are missing. It is taken to be sold again as one piece of it is really profitable. No wonder the conmen are so smart of getting profit…rupa-rupanya, they sell screws….if I have the chance, I will try to screw them off, see how far they go of selling stolen screws after been ‘screwed’.
Anyway, everything was settledafter the extremely rare case is refer to the manager and the manager manage to refer it to HQ at KL. Apparently, they got the new set of screws and I got it free of charge….
Anyway, I would like to express my gratitude to the HP team who had helped me on solving this issue and service it free of charge somemore
They are few lessons to be learn here:
1 ) when you bought stuff that is as expensive as mine, do remember to note where did it come from. As In the case of laptop, do remember to ask the person who sell it whether it is a remarketed stuff. This might happens if you buy a laptop from a shop. It is more secure if you buy directly from the dealer, authorised reseller…
2) Be careful when you buy stuffs at KL, especially Lowyat if you intend to buy laptop, I would like to suggest that it is more secure to buy at those authorised shops.Lowyat is still indeed a great place to shop for IT stuffs but do remember about it.
3) Check the product very thorough before you buy it. Like my case..check the screw, so that you can screw them on the spot and throw their water face on the spot.
4) HP has a good customer service and no doubt HP product is good (promote pula….)
